I went shopping yesterday and bought new fenders, lights, lock and pump for my bike. No more excuses about rain or darkness....though night riding still scares me a bit. My dad dropped off a stationary bike for me to train on when I get home from work late at night. This will increase the time I can spend cycling by an hour or two a day. It's nice because then I don't have to leave my little dog, Axl, at home alone while I head out to the gym or on the road. I'm mixing up my riding time between the road and at home now. The key is to build my endurance....

Today I put 100kms behind me on a bike for the first time...in my life!!! Mixed it up between the stationary at the gym (twice today) and a two hour bike ride. Pretty good feeling. I'm not sure it was a good idea to push so hard today when tomorrow is the "Monday" of my work week. There may be some discomfort in the am....legs are sore. I just got back from riding my REAL bike. So nice not to have to sweat it out on the Y's stationary today. Granted, I'm going there later to try and squeeze in another 30 or 40kms.
